چکیده

Extensive research has already started on 6G and beyond wireless technologies due to the envisioned new use-cases potential requirements for future networks. Although a plethora of modern physical layer solutions have been introduced in last few decades, it is undeniable that level saturation reached terms available spectrum, adapted modulation/coding accordingly maximum capacity. Within this context, communications through reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), which enable novel effective functionalities including wave absorption, tuneable anomalous reflection, reflection phase modification, appear as candidate overcome inherent drawbacks legacy systems. The core idea RISs transformation uncontrollable random propagation environment into communication system entity plays an active role forwarding information. In paper, well-known multipath fading phenomenon revisited mobile systems, unique are from perspective RISs. feasibility eliminating or mitigating effect stemming movement receivers also investigated by utilizing It shown rapid fluctuations received signal strength Doppler can be effectively reduced using real-time proven totally eliminated when all reflectors coated with RISs, while even significantly reduce spread well deep fades general environments several interacting objects.

Doppler Frequency Estimation in Multipath Fading Channels

As prior knowledge of Doppler frequency has been found useful in many applications of mobile communications, it is necessary to estimate the Doppler frequency at the mobile station (MS) based on the received fading signal. Rice et al 1] had derived Doppler frequency estimates using continuous-time received fading signals. In the present investigation, level crossing rate (LCR) and autocorrelati...

Joint multipath-Doppler diversity in fast fading channels

We present a new framework for code-division multiple access (CDMA) communication over fast fading mobile wireless channels. The performance of the RAKE receiver, which is at the heart of existing CDMA systems, degrades substantially under fast fading encountered in many mobile scenarios. Due to the time-varying nature of the fast fading channel, we employ joint time-frequency processing, which...

Multipath & Fading

In radar processing, multipath causes ghost targets to appear, deceiving the radar receiver. These ghosts are particularly bothersome since they move and behave like the normal targets (which they echo), and so the receiver has difficulty in isolating the correct target echo. These problems can be overcome by incorporating a ground map of the radar's surroundings and eliminating all echoes whic...

Multipath Mitigation for Narrowband Receivers

Narrowband receivers are more robust to narrowband interference and to GPS signal faults, but they tend to have relatively poor multipath performance. Few current techniques are capable of mitigating multipath in these receivers. The Tracking Error Compensator (TrEC) however operates independent of the receiver’s precorrelation bandwidth (PCB) using the concept of Multipath Invariance (MPI). Th...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
